MOTLogs Wiki

How Wiki works

Text a question on WhatsApp. Get a sourced answer in seconds. Tricky one? A vetted MOT tester joins on video within seconds. Here’s the full flow.

1. Ask

Text a question to your Wiki number on WhatsApp, drop a voice note from the bay, send an SMS, or (on Assisted and Advanced) just call the number. All four channels reach the same brain. Voice notes are transcribed with Whisper; voice calls run through real-time conversational AI so you get sub-second turn-taking.

2. Answer

The AI grounds every answer in the DVSA MOT Inspection Manual, the Special Notice archive, manufacturer technical bulletins, and (on Assisted and Advanced) your own custom KB entries. The reply you get carries a citation back to the exact paragraph it came from - tap the link to read the original. Default model is Llama 3.1 70B via Groq; Advanced customers can pin a different model per tenant.

3. Escalate

When the question crosses a confidence floor - an unusual fail item, a borderline advisory, a regulatory grey area - the AI hands you over. A vetted MOT tester (an MVP) gets a push notification, accepts, and joins a video room with you. You see the bay, they see your screen, you finish the job. You’re billed per minute of the room and the per-minute rate matches your tier.

What about voice calls?

Assisted and Advanced unlock inbound voice. You dial your Wiki number and talk to the AI directly - same brain, same citations, same escalation path. Voice end-to-end latency is budgeted at 1.2 s (end of your utterance to first audible reply) so the conversation feels live, not lagged.

What about proactive alerts?

Assisted and Advanced also get DVSA Special Notice nudges - when DVSA issues a notice that matches a vehicle you’ve recently asked about, Wiki messages you the summary so you don’t miss it on the next test.
