Wiki frequently asked questions
Everything garage owners ask before they sign up - trial behaviour, billing, MVP minutes, sources, and data.
How does the 14-day trial work?
You sign up with a card on file (Stripe SetupIntent — we save it but do not charge). You get 14 days of full access at your chosen tier. At day 14 we charge the card for the first month. You then have a 7-day review window during which we will refund and close your account on request, no questions asked. There is no permanent free tier.
Do prices include VAT?
Prices are final. MOT Logs Ltd is not VAT registered, so there is no VAT line on your invoice and nothing to claim back. What you see is what you pay.
What channels can I use to ask a question?
WhatsApp text, WhatsApp voice notes, SMS, and (on Assisted and Advanced) inbound voice call. All four channels reach the same UK number. Voice notes are transcribed by Whisper; the AI answers in the channel you used.
What is an MVP minute?
When the AI hits a tricky edge case, a vetted MOT tester (an MVP — Most Valuable Person) joins a video room with you within seconds. You are billed per minute of that room. Each tier includes some MVP minutes per month: 3 on Standard, 25 on Assisted, 75 on Advanced. Extra minutes are charged at the per-minute rate shown on the pricing page.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. There is no minimum term beyond the current billing month. Cancel from the customer portal and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Annual billing is non-refundable beyond the 7-day review window after the first charge.
What does each tier include?
Standard (£39/month) — 150 questions, 3 MVP minutes, text channels, 3 users. Assisted (£119/month) — 800 questions, 25 MVP minutes, inbound voice, DVSA Special Notice alerts, 100 custom KB entries, 10 users. Advanced (£249/month) — unlimited questions, 75 MVP minutes, custom tenant prompts, custom LLM, white-label, full API. Enterprise (from £599/month) adds SLA, data residency, and the option to bring your own MOT testers as helpers.
Where does the AI get its answers from?
The DVSA MOT Inspection Manual, the DVSA Special Notice archive, manufacturer technical bulletins, and your own custom KB entries (Assisted and Advanced). Every answer carries a citation back to the source paragraph. The model is Llama 3.1 70B via Groq by default; Advanced customers can pin a different model per tenant.
What happens to my data?
Conversation history is retained for 6 months on Standard, 24 months on Assisted, and indefinitely on Advanced (you can request deletion at any time). We do not train models on your transcripts. Hosting is UK; data residency options are available on Enterprise. See our privacy policy for the full UK GDPR posture.
